Charlotte Rae passed away on Sunday at the age of 92. She lived a long life with a career spanning over six decades.
To me, Charlotte will always be Edna Garrett - the loving housemaid on
Different Strokes who then became everyone's favorite housemother on
The Facts of Life. I was so excited to meet her at a play several years ago - she asked me for my help getting through the crowd and I happily obliged. Sadly, my friend asked her a question right as the camera went off. FAIL. Oh, well. At least I was able to tell her how much I loved her work. R.I.P. Mrs. G. You'll be missed.
