Try These: Best New Fall TV Picks
So, obviously the new fall TV season just barely started and there are plenty of new shows I've yet to try. But, of the ones I've sampled, I've got some favorites.
First and foremost, The Muppets is amazing. They've done a brilliant job of acknowledging the past while still updating it for the present. As the group of muppets we've grown to love work together on Miss Piggy's late night show, it's ripe with comedy from beginning to end. Definitely a new highlight of my week.
Next up, a show I didn't expect to like at all: The Grinder. Wow, this was a big surprise. I loved it! Rob Lowe stars as an actor who played a character called The Grinder and ends up back in his hometown after the series ends. Fred Savage plays his dubious brother (basically recreating his role from The Princess Bride) who is an actual lawyer, not just one on TV. Best of all? Rob Lowe did a shout out to his Parks and Rec character which made me incredibly happy. Check it out!
Another surprise to me was how much we're loving Scream Queens - what a fun ride! While I'm not usually into horror shows, this one is quirky and funny enough to overcome the bloody, ridiculous scenes. It's great! Finally, Grandfathered was pretty cute. I didn't love love love it, but I didn't hate it either (like Life in Pieces, which is pretty much a skip from me for the rest of the season). I'll check it out again, but the other three shows have made it into my "must watch" category.
Pinky's Fandance - Josh Kelly
Josh Kelly plays Shiri Appleby's ex-fiancee on the show UnREAL and he does a great job. He has the ability to look sweet and innocent one second and hot/sexy/smoldering the next.
Before this, it looks like the biggest thing he'd done was on One Life to Live. He was very sweet when we met and even introduced himself to me. Adorable! Just pretend I have a lick of make-up on.
Some Days You're the Bug
Some days it's hard to be a fangirl. Earlier this week I was hoping upon hope to meet my fave guys in Duran Duran as they performed on the Jimmy Kimmel show. This smile did not last long (despite being loaded up with Duran Duran fangirl necklaces and everything!).
The last time they were there (in 2010), not only was I able to get a great picture with Nick, but that's when he signed my leg that I then went on to get tattooed later that night. I was hoping for a similar experience this time, but, alas, it was not to be.It's funny - for being such a HUGE band, I've been really lucky to have a few private encounters with Duran Duran over the years. The five photo ops I have with Nick were all in pretty calm situations with not too many others around. And maybe that's made me spoiled at this point, but I don't really like being in a huge crowd or having to call my TLF band over while being trapped in a barricade. I mean, OK, sure, as a fangirl, this is a normal place for me to be, but in relation to Duran Duran, it feels wrong. I'd rather be right next to them with no one else around (wouldn't everyone?). I'm much better one on one with people I really love. I just don't like fighting stupid autograph collectors or people who are barely fans. They piss me off. In the picture above, in the bottom left corner, you can see my purse. I was crunched in between the two guys leaning in (love you, Scotty), which was totally fine, but when John came over and I asked for a picture, he replied with, "Just TAKE it!" Um, not my ideal encounter.
Worst of all, Nick didn't even come over. Oh, sure, they all came over after I left, but apparently the crunch was so bad that I would've been smashed and pictures weren't possible. That would've made me even more bummed than I already am. All I have to show for the day was a horrible sunburn. BOO!
Celebrity Wrap Up - Friday Edition
Hello and welcome to Friday's edition of Celebrity Wrap Up.
Egads. My eyes are bleeding. Is January wearing a nightgown? Not that Amanda's outfit is much better....
Suddenly, I have a strong pull to want to get involved with Unicef.
Toni's dress is amazing. No comment on the rest.
Did she crochet the bottom of that dress?

Paper Gods Necklace
In honor of Duran Duran being in California this week (hooray!!!), I created this necklace with their newest album on it. Of course I had to make the band their own keychains - hope I get a chance to give them to them.
I'm not sure the picture does it justice, but I think it turned out great!
Pinky's Fandance - Constance Zimmer
Constance Zimmer is amazing. Not only is she incredibly talented and funny, but she's super fan friendly to boot. Winning combination!
I was so glad I had a chance to tell her how awesome her show is and how great she is on it. Yay!
All Hail Drive-Thru BR
I realize I've mentioned this magical place on numerous occasions, but with the heat we've been having this summer, it has been a lifesaver.
All hail drive-thru BR! Hooray!
Celebrity Wrap Up - Thursday Edition
Hello and welcome to Thursday's edition of Celebrity Wrap Up.
Oh no! Did the airline lose her luggage? Was the only thing available to wear the sheet from her bed? This looked super cute on. I love it.
This is a picnic tablecloth with a mullet.
Poor Edith. Left to wear the China pattern as a dress.
Is she slouching? Stand up straight!

Last Stop: Denver, CO
I've gotta say, as much fun as we've had on our Alamo Drafthouse tour, I'm quite relieved not to be traveling again for awhile! Too many planes in too short of time.
On our way to our flight on Thursday morning, we ran into both Andre Gower and Judy Norton who were heading to Texas and Arizona, respectively. Judy was even on our first flight! Small world! When we arrived in Denver, we were greeted by a driver. I'd never had a driver before! I felt very fancy.
We loved seeing this up in the lobby!
This fan made Keith an amazing clock.
So cool!
This fan came wearing a shirt she'd bought from our awesome friends at www.rainbowalternative.com - and then bought two more shirts from us! Score!
Look at all the great shirts!
So neat to see Adventures in Babysitting up with all the current films.
This carpet was in one of the airports we passed through. I just loved the subtle airplanes on the pattern.
Pinky's Fandance - Shiri Appleby
One of the main people I was hoping to meet at the Q&A the other night was the star of UnREAL, Shiri Appleby. She's so incredible in the show! I love her.
Thankfully I was in the right place at the right time as she passed by and was able to grab a quick picture. Hooray! Stoked.
UnREAL Q&A
Before we left for Denver, we had the rare opportunity to attend a screening of one of our favorite shows, UnREAL, along with a Q&A with some of the main cast. Squee!
I loved re-watching the premiere episode and getting to hear everyone's motivations. It was fascinating! Plus, I got to meet a few of the cast afterwards (which always makes me happy). Our friend Jarett was the moderator of the Q&A and he did a great job. So fun to see him!
Celebrity Wrap Up - Wednesday Edition
Hello and welcome to Wednesday's edition of Celebrity Wrap Up.
They seem like an odd duo to be friends. And why is Salma the one dressed like a fuddy duddy?
Holy ugly dresses, Kristin. That is awful.
While I could do without Fassy's horrible hairstyle, I do love seeing him pose with fans. *squee*
She looks lovely.I cannot wait to see The Martian! Seeing them promote it is just making things worse!
