I don't know why, but when I first heard about this series when it was going to be on NBC, I wasn't interested in it. At all.
However, now that Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is on Netflix (and Season One is there in its entirety), my interested was piqued. Then, of course, came the rave reviews and comparisons to 30 Rock (which I loved); by that time I knew I was going to love it. What is the show about, you ask? Well, Kimmy Schmidt was kidnapped in Junior High and kept in an underground bunker with three "sister wives" after being told the world had ended. Fourteen years later, they're found and released from the bunker and her life basically begins. I've heard it described as being similar to Elf, but in a TV series version (and, of course, with a girl heroine).
Keith and I started watching this on Netflix this weekend and were thoroughly entertained. For those saying, "I don't have Netflix," don't despair! The first month is a free trial and then it's like $7.99 per month (and totally worth it!). You can get caught up on all the great shows - this one, Orange is the New Black, and House of Cards (which we haven't watched yet, but totally should). If you enjoyed 30 Rock, I think you'll love Kimmy. I can't wait to watch the rest of the episodes.
