As someone who absolutely adored the film version of About a Boy, I'll admit to being a bit leery that they were making a TV sitcom involving the same characters.
I wasn't planning to watch it, but, curiosity got the best of me and I started watching it online at nbc.com. Four episodes later, I'm totally and completely in love with it.I'm actually suprised how much I like it given that it's not set in England and therefore missing Hugh Grant and his lovely accent. Still, it was able to preserve that unique quality the film had which made it funny, tender, and touching while still being entertaining to watch. Minnie Driver is perfectly cast as Fiona, the mother of the quirky boy (Marcus) and David Walton is awesome as Will, the neverending child. I really hope this show finds some legs and sticks around for a long while. It's a great show. Check it out!
