I'm not even kidding you when I say that this review almost hurts me to write. I'm seriously so annoyed by how much I like this movie it's ridiculous.
Honestly, I had no interest in seeing Don Jon. After witnessing on numerous occasions how horribly Joseph Gordon-Douche (or 500 Day of Douche) treats his fans, I decided to stop supporting his work. And for the most part, I've been successful. But I kept hearing good things about this freaking movie. And then it was there, sitting, waiting for me, in Redbox. So, I figured it couldn't hurt. I'd hate the movie and that would be that.
Only I kind of really liked it. I (this physically hurts me to say) loved it, actually. Gah! Stupid talented JGL. Grrr.
The cast is pretty good, too, although Scarlett could've toned down the Debi Mazar impression about a million notches. Tony Danza was great as his dad and all around the film lured me in. SPECIAL NOTE: This film deals with highly adult themes and it will NOT be enjoyed by everyone (most of all, young children). Do not watch it if you're religious or don't feel like watching porn. There, I've said my peace.
