My Camera Sucks

Yesterday, I had a horrible experience, yet again, with this terrible, awful, stupid camera.Yes, I can call it names. It deserves them.
I'm not sure if I've mentioned that my camera has been having troubles lately, but for whatever reason, it randomly decides to work. Some days it's totally fine. Other days it goes on the fritz at the EXACT moment I've taken a picture I'm super excited about. I should have checked it, double checked it, triple checked it yesterday, but I didn't. I relied on my success from the Girls panel when there were zero problems. I was wrong to trust my camera. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. On a related note, I did TRY to buy a new one last month, but the person ripped me off. Took my money, never sent it to me, and I still (obviously) haven't received it. The genius seller "forgot" to get tracking (who sends a camera without tracking?!?!).
Yesterday Alyson Hannigan (from How I Met Your Mother and American Pie) was on a talk show. I've been DYING for a picture with her forever and was super excited to finally get a chance to meet her.
The last time she was scheduled for the talk show, her daughter got sick so she couldn't come (she was awesome about tweeting me back and letting me know, though. She said she'd make it up to us). Aside from that, the only other time I've seen her was at the American Pie Reunion premiere (where I had a huge sign for her), but she skipped me. Boo.
I've met the rest of the cast of How I Met Your Mother and American Pie - just needed to get that last picture with her!
When she arrived, she looked like she was running late, so she didn't come over. When she left - a little later than usual - her people said she had somewhere to be and couldn't do pics. UM. Here's the thing - most times pics are faster than autographs and we'd been waiting hours. At the very least, if the star is OK taking pictures, I don't see the problem. And why take so long to leave if you're in a hurry? Whatever. I'll shut up about that now. Despite Security saying NO pictures, she did one with me. Hooray, right? WRONG. Immediately I saw the "file error" on my camera. NOOOOOOOO!!!!
Our friends who were there got video, which is how these screenshots happened. They are not great. I admit that. But, they're better than the nothing I was left with after my devastation.
And, friends, I. Was. Devastated. To see me you would've thought a family member had died. I was THAT emotional. There was screaming, crying, wailing. It wasn't pretty. Poor Keith. At some point I blamed him. Again, it wasn't pretty. I'm not proud. I'm mortified by my behavior. I don't understand it. I mean, it was a long-awaited goal that failed right at the last minute, but whatever. I've always maintained that whether or not a photo opportunity happens, my life remains the same. But this time just felt really, really sad when it didn't work out. Did my life change? No. Did anyone die? No. Will I see Alyson again? Maybe. Who knows. Maybe I will and maybe I won't. Doesn't really matter at this point because my reaction and memory of the day is unable to be changed. I'm permanently the girl who freaked out. Not to Alyson's face (let's get that cleared up right away), but I saw a fellow fangirl staring at me like I was insane after it was over. I probably looked it. I know I felt it.
Today Keith and I were trying to understand my intense reaction and I think it was just like that "one last thing" that tips you over the edge when things aren't going your way. Like if you spill milk or break something and it's just the final straw....that picture fail was my last straw yesterday of a bunch of things weighing on my mind. Seriously, it's just a picture. There are so many actual things out there that are tragic and awful....missing a photo opportunity really isn't the end of the world. I'll live. Still, you better believe a new camera was ordered right away. In red (Keith's favorite color). I never want to look at that stupid pink one again. Good riddance!
