Last Sunday was the series finale of one of my favorite shows, Weeds. As much as I was looking forward to seeing how they brought it all together, I was left scratching my head and going, "Huh?!"
First of all, they jumped ahead a decade. Interesting? Maybe, but I kept thinking it was a dream sequence or a what if, not the actual reality. Secondly, why didn't my fave characters end up together? Why was Silas' wife so mad? I don't understand. And finally, no mention of Celia (Elizabeth Perkins' character) at all?!?! Not even in passing? They brought back all these random tiny characters, but Celia got the shaft. Of course, my all-time favorite finale was Six Feet Under and I'm not sure anything will ever be that perfect. It found a way to honor its characters and still flash forward (to all their deaths, in fact). I was bawling by the end and must've watched it at least a dozen times. I love it. The Weeds finale? Eh....Try again. Here's a thought - Maybe Alan Ball can help you write it?

OMG - your post hit the nail on the head. I was so confused, and frankly a little mad, at the Weeds finale. I love Weeds! I even stalked Agrestic last weekend in Valencia, CA! Sadly, the finale just made me mad and sad. Why is Shane always so screwed up? Why is Silas' wife such a B*****? And yes... where was Celia? Oh, and how did Stevie become a white kid? UGH!
As an aside, I totally agree that Six Feet Under had the most beautiful, perfect series finale of any show that ever aired. I bought the last season just so I can watch that particular episode. Masterful.
Dare I ask, are the making a Weeds movie?
