The most surprising thing about Duran Duran's current neverending World Tour is that it began back in March 2011. If you'll recall, I already saw them six times in concert and two separate times at talk show performances last year, so I wasn't sure if I'd really want to see the same set list and show again, despite my unfaltering love and adoration for my beloved band.
Still, I was having withdrawals from seeing them live, so I jumped at the chance to see them again, despite my fear it'd be the same show. Again. Boy, was I wrong. In addition to added some newly found patriotism (perhaps from performing at the Opening Ceremonies of the Olympics?), the sets were crisp, the media was amazing, and they sounded fantastic.
Here I am right before the show and before I dropped more than I care to admit on concert shirts, a tour book, a keychain, and a button. I wish I was joking. My iPhone didn't take the best picture of the stage, but you get the idea. My boys were on fire and I'm SO glad I went. Well done, boys!
