While I'm admittedly the Worst Autograph Collector in the World, there are times I'll buckle up and get one. Say, perhaps, if it's a DVD that I love love love, or I'm at the Hollywood Show when the price of a picture includes an autograph. In that case, why not, right?
The first one I got this weekend was Deborah Foreman, the iconic heroine of one of my fave films Valley Girl. I loved that she re-did the movie poster to include her face on it. Amazing. Next I got an autograph of Edward Furlong for my sister, Erin, who loves him. I wanted a picture, but knew she'd be stoked on an autograph, so I had him make it out to her. She was really excited.
My good friend at work, Ross, has a son who loves The Fonz and I've been telling him forever that the next time Henry Winkler is at the Hollywood Show, I'd get him an autograph. I was hoping for the autograph / picture deal like many of the others had, but, sadly, Henry Winkler was really trying to make a buck and a picture would've been a lot more. Since I already have one with him, I passed. Bummer. Still, I think the autograph turned out nice. I love that he wrote, "Mike is cool."
Steve Valentine is just hot, plain and simple. I could kinda care less about his autograph, but it came with the picture, so whatever.
Now this one made me happy because Different Strokes was such a huge part of my childhood. Todd Bridges let me pick out the picture I'd like him to sign and I chose this one because I loved the look on Gary Coleman's face. Todd told him this was from the first day they ever filmed the show, which made me happy.
