It feels like practically everyone I know has headed South to San Diego for this year's Comic-Con adventure. Here's the thing: while I totally appreciate their enthusiasm and can see how it might be fun, I don't think it's for me. From everything I've heard, there are just way too many people, way too many lines, and way too many scary nerdy costumes which I'm certain would drive me over the edge in two seconds flat. Perhaps if I'd been doing it for years and had a system in place I'd be comfortable braving the storm, but as a newbie, it sounds terrible. No, thank you.
I mean, it's the same with Sundance - I'm only comfortable there now (even with all the increased attendance) because I've been going for over ten years and know all the ins and outs. I don't know anything about Comic-Con and don't really have an interest in finding out. Then again, Sam Trammell will be there AND I'd be surrounded by nerds (and we all know I have a huge nerd fetish).....nope. Still not interested.
