Best. Plane. Ever.
Big thanks to Betsy for sending me these awesome pictures of a Hello Kitty plane in Taiwan. How awesome are these pics? Love it!
Pinky's Fandance - Sugar Ray Leonard
So, I should probably call this post "How I Accidentally Called Sugar Ray Jones The Wrong Name" but what fun is that? You see, Sugar Ray was leaving an event we attended last week. From where we were standing, it looked like Sugar Ray Jones, but I couldn't be sure with the hat and glasses. Plus, when I looked up images on Google, he looked WAY older than he actually does in person. So, really, my calling him the wrong name was a compliment, right?
He was standing with a boy and then Holly Robinson-Peete came over and stood with them. Well, Holly is married to Rodney Peete, so I decided that this was probably Rodney Peete and not Sugar Ray Leonard as I'd suspected. Lindsay wanted a picture with Holly, so I walked over with her to ask "Rodney" for a picture, as well. When I said Rodney, both Holly and Ray cracked up - said they'd be laughing about that for days. Holly then called "Rodney" Ray, so I knew my original assumption was correct. Sugar Ray was very sweet - even after being called Rodney - which I appreciate. According to imdb.com, he's 55 - he looks GREAT!
Rent This: We Bought a Zoo
One of the most enjoyable parts of my ill-fated trip was the ability to watch a plethora of movies on the long, never-ending flights. While I watched A LOT of movies (and I do mean a lot), by far my favorite was We Bought a Zoo.
Now, I'd heard good things about the movie, but I didn't expect to like it quite as much as I did. Matt Damon is fantastic, the girl who plays his daughter is the cutest thing ever, and the storyline is fun, interesting, and different, which I always enjoy. This is definitely something I'd like to add to my home movie collection. Loved it!
Celebrity Wrap Up - Wednesday Edition
Hello and welcome to Wednesday's edition of Celebrity Wrap Up.
Can somebody PLEASE tell Kate that she's a lovely girl, but an updo does NOT mix with her ears?!?!
Is that her baby bump look already? Really? I think we have nine months of hand-on-her-stomach to look forward to. Ugh.
Holy mother of all things ugly. What IS that?!?! I just threw up in my mouth. Can somebody PLEASE tell Kate that she's a lovely girl, but an updo does NOT mix with her ears?!?!
I hate to point out the obvious, but that's MY hairstyle! Is it catching on? Am I a trendsetter now?
Hey Justin - Danny Zuko called. He'd like his hairstyle back.

Tori Spelling's Hand-Me-Downs
My dear friend Mikey gave me a belated Christmas present last night - this amazing dog carrier that used to belong to Tori Spelling!! Can you stand it? It's not just like one she had - it IS the one she had! Love it!
I Have a Floor!!!
Obviously I haven't felt much like writing since I've been back, but I have exciting news - I HAVE A FLOOR!!! For months you've been hearing me bellyache about the sad state of my messy room, but a miracle has happened and it's clean! Well, of course there are things that need to be revisited, but suffice it to say that I have a floor and a new layout of my room and I'm STOKED!!! Big thanks to my dad for all of his tireless efforts in clearing the room out while I was being manhandled in London. As of the end of day today, it's clean! Hooray! Big applause.
London's Most Wanted
So, I was thinking last night how threatening I must've seemed to those Immigration officers in London. I mean, obviously, I was London's Most Wanted according to the way I was treated. I can just see the tip sheet now:
Attention All Officers:
Please be on the lookout for a blonde, blue-eyed, American woman wearing a black dress, black shoes with pink flamingos on them, and a light pink jacket with a Pink Panther cartoon on the back. Obviously, you are to take special caution when approaching, as she has not one, but TWO Hello Kitty tattoos.
In fact, she also has an Ariel tattoo and a Strawberry Shortcake tattoo, so you should be afraid, be very afraid. In her purse you'll probably find some Squinkie toys, and love letters to Nick Rhodes which she carries around at all times in the small chance she'll run into him. Please be advised that her nickname on the streets is "Pinky Lovejoy" and she's likely to kill you with vicious rhetoric and even correct your spelling.
That's right, officers, this is London's Most Wanted we're looking for and you should be on HIGH ALERT!!!

Happy Gotcha Day!
Yesterday was Sammy's "Gotcha" Day - it was one year ago that I brought this special little guy home!
I Didn't Want To Go To London Anyway....
The good news is that I'm no longer afraid to fly. The planes were big and roomy, the food wasn't terrible, and there was minimal turbulence. I can safely say that I think I'm OK to fly internationally....that is, if I ever dare to try it again.
So, what went wrong? I'm not really sure. I got off the plane, waited in line for Customs and Immigration for about an hour and kept changing my form - for some reason I thought it would matter that I listed "Town" as Sacramento instead of California. Come to find out, nothing really mattered. They hated me at first sight. When asked why I was coming to London, I told them the truth - I was coming to volunteer at the Sundance Film Festival. I didn't think anything about it, because that's what I was doing there. Long story short, apparently I needed a work Visa, I couldn't change my initial reason for admittance, and I was held in their slimy immigration pen for 18 hours until being put on a plane and sent back home.
The only funny part of the entire adventure was that in between a way-too-intrusive search and being fingerprinted like a common criminal, I passed by the boy band One Direction in the hallway, which made me giggle.
I was held in a pen, my stuff was all locked up, I was in the same clothes for three days, and I was crying the entire time. At the end, a special agent had to walk me onto the plane, hand my passport to the airline staff (I felt like "Dead Man Walking") and then I wasn't able to get my passport until we were landing. I took this picture when I finally got my phone back so that you can see what a great time I had. Lovely, no?

LAX ---> SFO ---> LONDON
In a few short hours I'll be leaving on a jet plane for LONDON!!!! I'm so excited / nervous / terrified - but it's all going to be great, right? Right?? Not sure how the internet will be, so I'll be updating when / if I can.
Leaving you with a parting shot of my adorable puppy, Sammy, as I started crying saying goodbye to him this morning (FAIL). In response he tilted his little head as if to say, "Are you OK?" So sweet! Big thanks to my dad for watching Sammy, Linds for taking me to the airport, my work for allowing me to go, Sundance for accepting my application, my BFF for the ticket, and Katie for being my tour guide when I arrive in London. And, of course, thanks to all of you for the happy thoughts and moral support I just know you're going to send to help alleviate all my flying stress. :) Off to tea time. Cheerio! :)
