Fave Sundance Movie? Save the Date
While I didn't see quite as many films as I usually do during Sundance, I was able to see one I absolutely adored. Save the Date was a cute, sweet, endearing film about life and love and I could not get enough of it.
One of the best parts about it were the cartoons drawn throughout the film. One of the main girls is an artist and she doodles all the time. I love things like that - blending different forms of media.
Of course, the cast was completely amazing: Martin Starr (looking FINE), Geoffrey Arend, Lizzy Caplan, Alison Brie, and Mark Webber were outstanding. I love love loved it and can't wait for it to be released.
Pinky's Fandance - Jason Mraz
I love Jason Mraz. Now, I don't obsessively dream about him, name my cat after him, or wish he was mine like some people I know (I'm looking at you, Heidels -the one photobombing my pic below), but he's a very cool guy with a great voice and I adore his music.
I finally had my chance to meet him at Sundance after he performed a short set. He is SO fan friendly! Loved it. We also got to see him perform at the Extra party later that night. Wahoo! Jason Mraz WIN.
Post-Sundance Fatigue
I don't know why I always forget just how freaking tired I am after Sundance. I mean, try as you might to stop it, there's not getting around the overall exhaustion that hits you post-Sundance.
I suppose getting three hours of sleep per night for two weeks while running around all day didn't help matters. Not to mention the high altitude, freezing cold temperatures, and the constant need to be going going going all the time.

Pit Stop in Vegas
As the long drive home is a just a smidge too long for Sammy, we made a pit stop in Vegas at my friend Alex's house yesterday.
I've known Alex since Junior High and it's always great to see her.
Not only was Sammy able to stretch his legs, but he met some new doggie friends. They played and had a blast. On a side note, do you know how hard it is to get three dogs to look at the camera?
Alex and Sammy were instant BFFs.
After our visit, this was Sammy's position for the remainder of the ride home. He was tuckered out!
Pinky's Fandance - John Hawkes
John Hawkes is a phenomenal actor. Last year I saw him at Sundance and didn't recognize him until it was too late. This year I made sure to keep an eye out for him.
John was SO nice. He plays such creepy characters that you just never know, but he was amazing. I'm so glad I was able to meet him this year.
Big Thanks
As my most recent Sundance Film Festival has come to a close, I've got a lot of people to thank for helping me attend. In no particular order: thanks to my dad for getting me tires so I could get home; thanks to my mom for listening to me while I was sick in bed during the beginning of the fest; thanks to Heidels for being an excellent partner-in-crime; thanks to my job for allowing me the time off to go;
thanks to McFamily for watching Sammy; thanks to Angie for bringing Sammy to see me and watching him the last few days; thanks to the random act of kindness from the passing car full of heroes which dug my weather-beaten car out of the snow; thanks to my Sundance manager for the amazing schedule; thanks to Sundance for the lodging and having me back every year; thanks to my Sundance friends I was fortunate enough to see; and last but not least thank goodness I made it back in one piece! That was a rough one, but still a lot of fun. :) Here's to another great year.

Julie Delpy Bubble Burst
I'm feeling much better today. One of the main reasons I was so discouraged last night was that I met Julie Delpy after her film. Now, I happen to LOVE Julie Delpy - Before Sunrise and Before Sunset are a few of my fave films.
In person, however, Julie, sadly, didn't live up to the hype. But, to her credit, she did take the picture, and it may have been bad timing immediately after screening her film for the first time.
Thankfully, I saw her again today and was able to get a MUCH better picture. While not overly friendly, she was fine and seemed to redeem herself. Phew! Now I can enjoy her work again.
