The Godfather

I can't believe I even call myself a movie buff without ever seeing The Godfather, which is arguably the most quoted movie of all time. However, you'll be happy to know that I finally sat down and watched not just part one, but also part two.
Yes, we have part three on the way, but from what I understand it's not the greatest. Still, I thoroughly enjoyed the films, even with my dad narrating them and filling in the backstory from the book every few minutes. It was fun to watch them with someone who knew so much and I definitely learned more having him here than I would've without. I can see why they're classics. Great films.

Pinky's Fandance Redux - Ryan Kwanten

Ryan Kwanten plays the dimwitted brother with a heart of gold on True Blood who is also one super sexy guy.
I first met Ryan at the premiere of his film last year and he was super nice - even though I was surprised to hear his Australian accent.
I ran into Ryan again earlier this year at the Independent Spirit Awards. Silly shading problem with the picture, but I loved his glasses.
Sammy and I saw Ryan last week at the True Blood premiere and I'm not sure if it was my camera fail or just bad timing, but this picture is a bit of a fail. Ah, well. At least we tried. Could the lady behind us look more crazy???

The Good with the Bad

Well, my big day of Three Great Things has encountered a few minor glitches: 1) The game show has postponed my shoot date. Blurgh. I'm hoping it'll be rescheduled soon. Also, when I met with the producer about my baggage, we could only find small baggage, nothing major. Now I need to figure out some major things wrong with me (that I'm comfortable talking about on national television). Hmmph. On the plus side: This was the first game show I've been selected for after auditioning for several, so that's exciting.
2) My new job is having trouble finding a computer and workstation for me to work from, so my start date has been moved from July 5th to the 11th. Blurgh. On the plus side: I got a great job with an amazing company (which I'd share the name of, but for now let's wait) and I'm SO excited to work there. I just have some extra time to teach myself Filemaker Pro which I wanted to learn anyway. All good things, right? Here's to thinking positive in light of opposition. ;)

Celebrity Wrap Up - Saturday Edition

Hello and welcome to Saturday's Hot Guy edition of Celebrity Wrap Up.
Oh, McDreamy. You are such a delight. I'd follow you around anywhere.
If Ashton booked that show, why is he begging for change? Oh, he's not? This is just how he looks now? My bad.
Despite the scary glasses and dreadlocks, Bradley Cooper is still one hot slice of man meat.
Why does Jason always look like he's about to punch somebody in the face?
Nice shades, George Michael. Do you need me to wake you up beiges you go-go?

Road Dog

In case you were wondering how Sammy enjoys riding around in a car, I present the following:
As usual, my half-parrot dog prefers to be on my shoulder both in and out of the car. Silly puppy.

Pinky's Fandance - Dean Chekvala

Dean Chekvala is one of the new characters on True Blood this season.
I'm not sure what his character will be like, but in person he was awesome. Even Sammy liked him, as you can see. Apparently he used to also be on a show called Harper's Island, but I never watched that. I look forward to see what he brings to the show. Welcome, Dean!

Out of the Mouths of Babes

My adorable nephew, O, was kind enough to remind me of the following when I was trying to get Sammy to stop barking the other day: "Auntie, he's a dog - he doesn't understand words." He then proceeded to bark at Sammy - perhaps he knows something I don't?
Keep in mind this is the same nephew who called up my brother at the hospital when the new baby was being born a few weeks ago and said, "Put baby James on the phone, I want to talk to him." Such a cutie.

Celebrity Wrap Up - Friday Edition

Hello and welcome to Friday's edition of Celebrity Wrap Up,
Did they call each other beforehand to coordinate their outfits!?
Um, as the wife of the lead singer of Duran Duran, I'm thinking Yasmin desperately needs some fashion tips. Namely, that fur thing is a world of no. We all know that if I were the wife of Nick Rhodes (please let me one day be the wife of Nick Rhodes), I'd go above and beyond to make sure I fit the part of a Duranie wife. I'm just saying.
Oh, no. Did they run out of brown paint? The wax figure isn't even the same color.
Man, he is SO gangsta.
Sorry to disturb you, Julia. Nice half-hearted wave you're rocking there.

Happy Day!

Applause, applause...big things are happening over here!
Not only did I book the game show and start interning with an amazing writer/director, but I got a job today! Wahoo!
I got a call at 10:30 this morning from my staffing agency asking if they could submit my resume for a certain job. An hour later they called for an interview and by the end of the day, I was employed. I start on Tuesday! Color me stoked. :)

Pinky's Fandance Redux - Carrie Preston

Carrie Preston plays the tough-as-nails Arlene on True Blood and in person she's as sweet as can be.
The first time we met we were at the Emmy awards and she was with her man, Michael Emerson.
The next time we met was at a different awards show earlier this year. Just as before, she was SO nice.
Last week I saw her again - it was her birthday! - and she was so cool. I'm completely in love with her hair color and check out her dress:
So. Freaking. Cute.

Pinky Lovejoy, Come On Down!

Big news in the Land of Pink: I booked a game show!
Several weeks ago I auditioned for a dating game show called Baggage and today I got the call that I was picked!
We'll be filming my episode in the next few weeks, so I'll let you know when it airs.
I have no idea how it'll all go down, but I'm always up for new adventures, so why not, right? ;)

Celebrity Wrap Up - Thursday Edition

Hello and welcome to Thursday's edition of Celebrity Wrap Up.
Where's the rest of her shirt?
Cutest. Rainbow. Shirt. Ever.
Oooh, shiny gift wrap.
Sookie and Bill look so normal out walking around LA.
Is the lady walking behind Nicole trying to eat her?
