An Open Letter to Nancy Cartwright

Nancy (please notice that lack of "Dear" in my tone) - I just wanted to let you know how disappointed I am with you and your treatment of me. In all my years of celebrity fan-dome, never have I been made to feel the way you did last night. The sad thing is that up until we actually spoke, I was in total awe of you and what you were doing. Your event to benefit the local police, as well as your enthusiasm and hard work put into it, were inspiring. Watching you make your rounds at the event made me think you just might be the coolest thing ever - especially considering you held the event at your private residence. But here's the thing: In addition to not being cool at all, you lied about the event and the people who'd attend. Yes, it's true, I shouldn't have have bought a ticket - it was a reckless and frivolous thing to do. But, at 4 a.m. after waiting for Dane Cook all day, I saw him listed as a guest on your website and I *may* have decided to make a stupid purchase and attend. My sincere apologies for my hard-earned money being sent to your cause. I deeply regret the decision now.
Yes, the event was cool and lavish and neat to watch. But being made to feel like a second-class citizen? No, thank you. Asking you for a picture wasn't really asking for much considering that the other people I was hoping to see (Kirstie Alley, Dane Cook, Brad Garrett) were nowhere to be seen. It would've taken you, oh, two seconds. The time it took you to explain to me why you couldn't take a picture took twenty times longer than the actual photo would've. And screw you for saying you only took pictures with volunteers - in actuality, you took pictures with everyone BUT me. How was that supposed to make me feel? Calling me "the public" - it's not like I just wandered onto your property from my cardboard box outside. I BOUGHT A TICKET. I shouldn't have been made to feel like I was less than or that you were superior. You're not. And, yes, if every person there asked you for a picture it might take awhile. Sure. But not everyone gives a crap about getting a picture with you and considering you asked all those people to donate to your cause, taking a picture is the LEAST you could do.
It's too bad you had to be such a jerk. Up until then I was thinking of attending your event in the future. I won't make that mistake again, nor will I watch your show or support anything you ever do. You are dead to me.
Sadly,
Pinky Lovejoy
***ADDENDUM*** I received a very nice email today from an Account Exec at JAG PR. The contents of the note can be found in the comments section directly underneath this post in case you'd like to read them further. Thank you.

  1. Well of course Nancy Cartwright is gonna look down on you, she's a scientologist, thus far 'superior' to main stream public. Look on Google for more info on her and scientology.

Tom Cruise and Kirstie Alley are a few others to steer well clear of.

  2. HERE IS THE LETTER FROM JAG PR:

It's shocking to hear your comments and terribly saddening. Our experience with Nancy has been the polar opposite of yours. She has never been anything but extremely generous with her time, effort and money to support worthy causes. She is the only celebrity with whom we worked and whom we are aware who sends an autograph to anyone who ever requests it.

We're terribly sorry that your experience was not a positive one and would be happy to get you a personally autographed photo to show her gratitude for your contribution and support.

You can reach me by return email. And we would appreciate it if you would post our response since this is the first time in all the years we've worked with her that we've ever received any negative response to her recognition of her fans and those who support her charities.
