Welcome to another Shoulda/Woulda/Coulda edition of Pinky's Fandance. Today's missed celebrity is one I'm still kicking myself about because he was RIGHT THERE and I choked.Yes, that's right, I'm referring to the hilarious and fantastic Steve Carrell.
This picture was taken with my camera at premiere screening of
Little Miss Sunshine in 2006 in the Eccles theater and it was full of big stars. I walked up to Steve Carrell, who was standing kinda far into a row, and was about to ask him for a picture when one of the ladies who was with him gave me a really mean look. I froze! I was so scared by her wrath (
let alone Robert Redford being near and he hates the picture stuff) that I decided I could wait until the next morning since I had tickets for the early morning show in a smaller venue and figured I'd have a better shot there. The picture above shows a bit of the crazy scene that night (shown: Abigail Breslin, Alan Arkin, Robert Redford, and Toni Collette).
The problem with waiting until the next morning was that there were HUGE stars in this film and it was hard to choose who to try to get a picture with (
it was like Sophie's Choice!). As soon as the Q&A was over I had to decide if I should go for Greg Kinnear (
who I love and had been trying to get a picture with forever) or Steve Carrell.
As Greg was farther away, I thought I could get Greg and then get Steve on my way back to my seat.
Wrong. By the time I got the picture with Greg, Steve was bombarded by fans and then whisked off. Drat! I totally should've asked him the night before. DARN IT!! Oh well...hopefully someday the universe will bring him into my path again. A girl can always hope, right? :)

Yep. I saw Homeboy Carrell and didnt really push for it either. Opps.
