Tori on the Mind
I'm still in amazement of the Tori concert the other night. She was such an incredible performer. Now, this picture wasn't from the actual show, but I wanted you to see how talented she is - she actually plays a piano and a keyboard while singing the entire time. Oh, and I didn't even mention how every show is completely different, as she takes requests from the fans at the Meet and Greet before the show and then plays those songs. How cool is that? I noticed her writing notes on her hand as she spoke to people the other day, but I didn't know what she was doing. After the show I asked Matt if every night was different and he explained about the song requests. So neat!
After the show Heidi and I were trying to get a picture of our awesome front row seat and the piano behind us, but the picture doesn't really do it justice. Pretend you can see the piano. One of the funniest things of the day was that there was this crazy stalker there who'd flown in from Australia (!) and moved up near us. Help! Save us from the scary stalker!
It was so interesting to watch the whole dynamic of the show - especially my friend and his Tori-phile entourage. I mean, here are some DEDICATED fans...people who take time away from their lives to just follow around this amazing performer. In doing so, they form their own family of sorts. It reminded me of the little groups at Sundance who all stick together - it's one of my fave things about it. But here I've known Matt for years at Sundance and never knew this side of him. This is a MAJOR part of his life...and I was clueless. I suppose many of us have passions or loves and possibly hide them away for fear of being judged (not me, of course - my crazy is out there for all the world to see). It made me wonder of what else I'm missing in the lives of my friends. What secrets are to be discovered and cool passions are to be learned about?
