Pinky's Fandance, Saturday Edition
I'm fairly certain I've posted this picture before (in some 80's Trifecta post, or something having to do with my TLF Ricky Schroder's TV show Silver Spoons), but I don't think we discussed how it came to be. I met Alfonso Ribiero at a Lakers game at The Forum back in the early 90's (yes, I know you love the Madonna hair and scary eyebrows). We had VIP seating because one of the alumni cheerleaders from my high school was a Laker Girl (in fact, I believe she still choreographs the squad to this day) and she'd get us special seats. On this particular day I didn't have much to eat, which was a big mistake, because I then proceeded to drink not one, not two, but FOUR glasses of wine during the game (all the while not being much of a drinker). All I can say about that is I don't remember much after half-time. In fact, I don't even remember taking this picture. I do vaguely remember talking to Alfonso about Silver Spoons and being jealous that he knew Ricky Schroder (I'm sure he was really impressed with that), but then I *thought* I left him alone from that point on. I was wrong. As I blacked out the second half of the game (and the four-hour drive home wherein I was throwing up the entire way), I didn't remember going back for the picture until I started dreaming about it a few days later and had to call my friends and asked if it happened. I never even knew this picture existed until my friend presented it to me. Nice. Oh, as an added bonus? The one thing I do remember is shaking hands with Jerry Buss (the owner of the Lakers) and then falling down an entire flight of concrete stairs. Luckily in my drunken state I didn't feel a thing (well, until the next day, that is). Aren't I just full of hilarious stories? :)
