To Friend or not to Friend
As someone who's never met a friend I didn't want to keep forever, I'm not sure how to drop a friend. Plenty of people in the world go about their business and can drop friends left and right, but I've never really been good at dropping much of anything - not a friend, not a boyfriend, not a bad habit...well, you get the idea. So, at what point does one decide to dump a friend? And how exactly does that take place? I've got a friend...I'm not going to go into any detail whatsoever, but I don't really want her involved in my life anymore (even though she's been around for at least 25 years). When we make plans, I basically dread them the entire time and even after they're happening I don't really get anything from spending time together. Not that I necessarily have to learn from every encounter, but it just feels like a bad experience all around. Does that make sense? I'm starting to think I should just move along and not look back. Does this make me a bad person? Or am I finally just growing up and seeing what works best for me? Oh man, that sounds selfish, too. I give up.

I've never been more please that I haven't known you for 25 years. I would hate to be this person.
I hope it's not me, but I do think it's a sense of respecting yourself. If you're not getting anything out of the relationship... MOVE ON!
