After the Avenues Street Fair today I drove down to Provo for my cousin Mike's daughter's first birthday party (does that make her my second 
cousin? I can never remember how that stuff works). Ginny (the birthday girl) is SO freaking cute. Her mom, Amber, made her this little bear cake that was, um, interesting to say the least. :) Just teasing - it definitely had character!!! There was a tiny bit of drama when Ginny pulled the elastic snap from her birthday hat - here are the before snap and after snap pictures. Note the sad, sad birthday girl. 
It was a fun party and it was nice to be able to see my cousin Netty (Mike's sister) and her adorable family. She's got three boys who are always busy running around - they crack me up. 
Netty and I are the same age and grew up fairly close, despite her living in Virginia. Even though she lives in SLC now, I rarely get to see her, so it was nice to be able to catch up a little. All in all, it was 
a perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon - with family, hanging out.
