Babies Can be Ugly

I'm sorry, but it has to be said: Not all babies are cute. Oh, sure, when you talk to the besotted parents, you're going to say it's the most adorable thing you've ever seen, but let's be real. Not all babies are attractive. Some got hit with the ugly stick in the womb (apparently) and it can't be helped. Just as in real life, some have "good personalities" but are lacking any other physical attributes. Perhaps in time they'll grow into their looks, but at this juncture, they are definitely not good. My friend at work keeps telling me that all babies are cute and I'm insane, but really. I've seen plenty of ugly babies. There was even a "Seinfeld" episode about it (which should stand as evidence right there that I speak the truth). It does make you wonder, though. Do parents ever know their child is less-than-stellar? Or do they always see them with rose-colored glasses? And yes, just because I wrote this, should I ever have a child, I'm sure it'll be the most hideous thing on earth (but just humor me and tell me it's cute - since you know I'd post pics on here every freaking day). I'd be that mom. :)
