Sixteen Thousand Ways To Make Me Smile

Yesterday a wonderful thing happened. The one and only Molly Ringwald (beloved 80's icon and star of Sixteen Candles, Pretty in Pink, and Breakfast Club to name a few of her masterpieces) was quoted as saying she'd be interested in filming the sequel to Sixteen Candles. Did you hear that? I just squealed in delight. Can you imagine what revisting Sixteen Candles-land would mean? All the delicious Jake Ryan juiciness (can you imagine Jake Ryan with kids? YUM), all the tasty updates on Ted (The Geek), The Donger, and of course, Samantha herself (let's not forget John Cusack was in this film as a nerd friend). My mind reels with possibilities. Where can I buy my ticket?

Still the best movie. I read your comment on my blog. I think the same people who made the butter cow may be the same people who have monkeys as kids. Hmmm. Could be?

Wow, that would be cool... but at the same time, do you mess with a classic like that? Sometimes I think we should leave well enough alone. What if it sucked and can you really see Molly Ringwald driving a minivan and being a soccer mom? Having a hard time picturing it. We are old.
