Crochet Queen

Shortly after moving to Utah in 2001, my cousin taught me how to crochet. This might possibly be one of the greatest things I've ever been taught, especially since I use the skill ALL the time. I love being able to make hats, scarves, and blankets for my loved ones. Plus, it's so relaxing and is a huge stress relief just to sit down and take out your frustrations on your needle. Vegging out in front of a movie while crocheting is probably one of my favorite things to do in the world (remember, I'm 100). For the past year it's been "baby blanket city," but sometimes I spice it up with a bigger one for a wedding gift. Last month I was working obsessively on finishing the "monster blanket" for DK (it's brown, it just looks a weird color in this pic): Last night I completed making the blanket for the wedding in Catalina next week. I think it turned out pretty well, except the colors are hard to see (as I took the pic with my phone).

My next two weekends are super busy. This weekend I'm going to CineVegas (the Las Vegas film festival) and next weekend I'm going to Catalina for the wedding (on Saturday) and then flying to Arizona for a George Michael concert (on Sunday). Am I total jetsetter, or what? :) I think everything will be super fun, but I'm looking forward to a weekend when I can just sleep in and relax! With the Downtown Farmer's Market starting soon, there might not be any rest for the weary though....
