As soon as we get ready, we're off to see the Sex and the City movie (although, I'm sure he'd be totally fine if the movie was sold out).

Safe and sound
Greetings from beautiful Yakima, Washington. I made it safe and sound last night and really enjoyed the scenic drive, especially the few hours spent driving through Oregon. I tried to take some pictures with my iPhone during the drive (yes, these were all taken with my phone, but the pics from the comedy show were done with my new camera - yay!). Last night we grabbed some dinner, took a little drive around the town, and started the Seinfeld marathon. However, this morning I woke up wanting to cut off my head. As gorgeous as the area is, I'm in allergy hell. Apparently, the pollen is some sort of super pollen that wants to kill me. I took about a handful of every allergy pill known to man and am currently waiting for my congested head to drain...wahoo! I know you're jealous of all the fun I'm having so far. :)

Last Comic Standing
I'm a pretty big fan of the TV show Last Comic Standing. Actually a HUGE fan of not only the show, but all forms of stand-up comedy. I love it. Always have. Always will. Even tried performing it for a few years in college...but that was a million years ago. Anyway, in the past month there've been not one, but two past winners from Last Comic Standing - Josh Blue and Alonso Bodden - performing at a local club. I took my friend Angie for her birthday last month to see Josh and then tonight my friend Jenny took me to see Alonso (yes, apparently I'm on a first name basis with both of them) for mine. They were SO funny! I'm always so refreshed and inspired after laughing for an hour solid. I had to take notes just to be sure I remembered how funny the jokes were (I hate when I forget!). We had a great time and Alonso was gracious enough to take a picture (well, two, actually, since I didn't like our first one) with me. Yay! :)
Here's our pic with Josh Blue last month:Off to pack a bag for my big trip...I'm leaving tomorrow morning. Never fear...I'll try to blog from Washington (if you're lucky). Happy Friday! :) Think Pink!

Sex and the City (and stars galore!)
In honor of the Sex and the City movie coming out tomorrow (YAY!!!!), I thought it only appropriate to share my super cool photo with SJP herself (or, to you commoners, Sarah Jessica Parker). She came to Sundance this year to promote Smart People and I didn't think in a million years I'd be able to get a pic with her. I was even sitting in the front row at her movie and was totally convinced she wouldn't be nice or pose for photos. I don't know why I thought that. You know how sometimes you get a preconceived notion about someone without any basis? I was sitting by a girl who said she wanted to get her picture taken with SJP, her husband Matthew Broderick, AND Dennis Quaid (who was also in the movie) and I think I said something like, "Uh, good luck with that." Even I doubted that was possible.
Luckily, I was completely wrong about SJP. After the Q&A period was finished (where they take questions from the audience for the cast and crew after the movie), I jumped up and asked her if we could take a pic. She was so cute. She said, "Sure, but is it OK? Am I going to get in trouble?" I was like, "Um, no, you're SJP, you can do what you want." OK, I didn't really say that (but I thought it in my head). I think she was worried about squatting near the edge of the stage, but as you can see from the pic above, it all worked brilliantly (except for that putz sticking his head in my picture. Seriously. Really?). After I got the pic, I feverishly walked through the throngs of people and caught Matthew Broderick (Ferris Bueller himself) just as he was about to leave. Score!

Woman's Poem/Man's Poem
This was just way too funny not to share:
A WOMAN'S POEM:
Before I lay me down to sleep,
I pray for a man, who's not a creep,
One who's handsome, smart and strong.
One who loves to listen long,
One who thinks before he speaks,
One who'll call, not wait for weeks.
I pray he's gainfully employed,
When I spend his cash, won't be annoyed.
Pulls out my chair and opens my door.
Massages my back and begs to do more.
Oh! Send me a man who'll make love to my mind,
Knows what to answer to "how big is my behind?"
I pray that this man will love me to no end,
And always be my very best friend.
A MAN'S POEM:
I pray for a deaf-mute gymnast nymphomaniac with
huge boobs who owns a bar on a golf course,
and loves to send me fishing and drinking.
This doesn't rhyme and I don't give a shit.
And the prognosis is....
Yee-haw, kiss your grandma!! :) My beloved little car will live to ride again. The dealership called and said that Wal-mart (yes, I get my oil changed at Wal-mart) failed to put my air filter back on right, which is what set off the sensor. They also had a few suggestions...an oil change, spark plugs, a new battery, new wipers, and cleaning my fuel injectors (whatever those are). I approved some of the suggestions, not all, since I figured spark plugs and a battery are always good to have and I needed an oil change anyway. The rest of the suggestions can wait.
As for my road trip....I'm driving to Yakima, Washington to visit my BFF. We're planning on watching the last season of Friends and Seinfeld and then go to see the new Sex and the City movie. He's been bugging me to visit forever, so now that the ice has melted and the roads are safe, I'm on my way! Should be fun to get out of the city and see a new place. Plus, he's been holding my snow globes hostage (he buys me snow globes on his many travels, but won't send them until I come visit).
Toys and Cars
The good news today is that my new toy (see above) came in the mail. I'm SO excited to try it out. FINALLY all my stupid pictures won't be blurry! Yay me! :) Of course, I'm not too happy with the boring color, but that's been fixed by the Hello Kitty stickers I put all over it. I know, shocking to hear that I'm an adult, huh? (Wait, since when?). I just don't see why it's so hard for a camera company to make the features I want (most importantly, the vari-angle lense to take my celeb self-portraits with) and still make the camera pink. Why is finding that combination like searching for a unicorn?
My other new toy (purchased with some birthday money) is the complete Seinfeld series. Can I just say WOW? It has over 100 hours of extras AND a coffee table book! :) I'm so excited to watch it. I love watching series in order because even if you've seen every episode, there seems to be a ton of stuff I missed not watching them back-to-back.
The bad news today is my poor little Echo had to be taken into the shop to diagnose the stupid "Check Engine Light." Blurgh. It's going to cost me $50 just for them to tell me what's wrong with it. Nice. I didn't feel like eating this week anyway. I told them that they can't take advantage of me just because I'm a girl. We'll see how that works out. Fingers crossed that it's not some horrible, hideous, expensive problem. I'm taking a road trip this weekend, so I kind of need a working car.

The Bachelorette
First things first - in general, I am NOT a reality TV show watcher. You're never going to catch me checking out the latest barbs from Simon, seeing which stars are dancing the tango, or caring about stupid people stranded on an island. I don't care if someone thinks they can dance, gets swapped by their husband, or races all over the world on a scavenger hunt. Not for me. Give me ER, The Office, Grey's Anatomy, or some other formulaic comedy and/or drama any day of the week. Those I enjoy. Those make me happy. Those I look forward to and watch way more than I should. Oh, OK, you caught me. I do enjoy Last Comic Standing...but just the stand-up acts, not the stupid house drama. That being said, line up 25 random bachelors and bachelorettes all vying for a rose and I'm all over it. Even though they never work out in the end (and really, like less than five couples have actually ever worked out), I still can't get enough. I think there may be one or two seasons I didn't watch (because I didn't like the guy who was the Bachelor), but otherwise I've seen them all. This weekend gave me the perfect time to catch up on the new season of The Bachelorette....can I just say WOW?! Those guys are the biggest tools! I love DeAnna (I don't care what you think, Shmeg and Buffy), but they really need to stop playing her rejection and scenes with Brad over and over. Brad must be ticked how much he's on the show. Granted, he was a jerk who didn't deserve her, but still.
I'm so glad Ryan got booted. How are these other two still around (especially Twilley - he gives me the heebie jeebies)? It boggles the mind.
These are my current faves (although I hope she doesn't boot Jason for having a kid - he's super dreamy). What on earth was up with these guys? Poor little Luke (the oyster farmer) actually CRIED at the Rose Ceremony. Come on, honey, pull it together. You knew her for like two seconds. And Greg referring to himself in the third person and then ripping off his shirt Hulk-style? Too much! Obviously, I'm already way too invested in this stupid show.

Pinky at Pink's
In addition to the movies and celebs at Sundance, my favorite thing about the experience is the amazing group of friends I've made and the little circle we've been able to form. We have so much fun every year. The boys usually fly in a day before the fest, leave a day after, and we all stay crammed into Pink Palace just hanging out. It's a blast. Here's a picture of our crew this year:
Now, I'm still not sure that the hot dogs are worth standing in line for hours (since it just tasted like a hot dog to me), but perhaps I should've tried something more exotic than a plain hot dog with mayo. :) Either way, our time spent standing in line gave us all time to catch up and of course there were a plethora of photo opportunities with the Pink signs. :) It's always fun to see everyone in "regular" clothes and not all bundled up for the freezing festival. Oh, who am I kidding? It's just fun to see them whenever I can! :)

Nick & Pinky 4ever???
OK, that's it. I can no longer hold this secret in. Nick Cannon (aka Mr. Mariah Carey) was my lover. I'm afraid on the rebound from me he had to go out and marry Mariah...can you imagine? So, for weeks I've been suffering as they frolicked about on the beach, at the park, and in their wedding photos, all the while knowing that he once was mine. :) Just kidding. He was actually SO nice and sweet at Sundance, but alas, no love connection. For some reason, I just thought the idea was super funny. :) Hope you're having a great Memorial Day!

Postsecret
My favorite thing about Sunday is that new secrets are posted on the Postsecret website (http://postsecret.blogspot.com/). This site is so cool. The founder started it as a way for people to mail in their deepest, darkest secrets anonymously on postcards. Sometimes they're funny, sometimes they're sad, and sometimes they just make you think. This little labor of love he started has just blown up and now there are published books full of these postcards. Here are a few of my fave postcards he published today:
